Dutch PIO Luciano Narsingh out for at least six months

Dutch international and ‘Player of Indian Origin’ Luciano Narsingh will miss at least the first half of 2013 but might be out for up to nine months with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which he picked up while playing for his club PSV Eindhoven against NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie last month. Luciano Narsingh picked up the injury in the first half of the match but continued to play until the 75th minute, even scoring a goal in the 6-1 victory; but was then taken off.

PSV said on their website, “Narsingh underwent surgery in the Bergman Clinic in Naarden on Wednesday afternoon. The 22-year-old will now start a long structured rehabilitation programme.”

22-year-old attacking winger Luciano Narsingh last summer joined PSV Eindhoven from Dutch rivals SC Heerenveen and has played 18 league matches in the first half of the season, scoring six goals; but his club will miss him in the rest of the 2012/13 campaign.
