Dynamo Kyiv land Austrian defender Aleksandar Dragovi?
Alexander Dragovi? , the 22-year-old Austrian defender signed a five-year contract with Ukranian outfit FC Dynamo Kyiv, their official website confirmed.
The youngster had the following to say in his first interview:
“Dynamo are a great team and I’m glad to be here. It took me little time to make a decision. I want to win as many trophies as possible.”
When asked about Dynamo not participating in the Champions League this season:
“FC Basel also haven’t qualified to the Champions League group stage yet. Besides I’m sure that Dynamo will participate in this competition next season.”
Asked if he spoke with Dynamo head coach Oleh Blokhin:
“Not yet. I met Dynamo president Ihor Surkis. I’m looking forward for my first training session to get acquainted with the head coach and new teammates.”
Asked about his physical conditioning at the present moment:
“I had a training camp with Basel, so I have no problems with physical conditioning and I can start playing at once.”
His favourite playing position:
“I’m a center back, but as a youngster, I used to play as midfielder.”
His comments on Dynamo center backs Domagoj Vida and Yevhen Khacheridi.
“I know them as we faced Dynamo during the winter training camp. They are very good defenders, who are being called-up to their national teams regularly. Playing for Austria, I faced both Croatia and Ukraine. I’m glad that I’ve become their teammate.”
