The Londoners started off yesterday without a natural number 9, and it is obvious why. Manager Slaven Bilic decided to give Andy Caroll a rest after he featured for all 90 minutes against Leicester on New Year's eve, which was justified. However, he neither started off with Andre Ayew nor Ashley Fletcher, which was surprising. The former made a cameo appearance later on, but couldn't really make a positive impression.
The West Ham board needs to get a good striker on board if they still dream to have a respectable finish this season.
