EPL 2017/18, Arsenal 3-0 Bournemouth: Player Ratings

Lacazette scored a scorcher of a goal
Lacazette scored a scorcher of a goal

Arsenal seem to have bounced back from their 4-0 thrashing at Anfield two weeks ago after their convincing 3-0 victory against a struggling Bournemouth side.

Danny Welbeck nodded in his second Premier League goal of the season from Sead Kolasinac's cross after just 5 minutes to give the Gunners an early lead. Alexandre Lacazette doubled their lead by slotting the ball into the net on the back of a Nathan Aké mistake.

Arsenal continued to dominate possession and looked like scoring every time they went forward, seeing their efforts materialise after Welbeck squeezed the ball past a helpless Begovi? for his second of the game and Arsenal's third.

Here are the player ratings.

Arsenal

Petr Cech - 6/10

The former Chelsea man was rarely troubled throughout the course of the game and didn't have much to do.

Nacho Monreal - 6/10

He looked solid on the ball and looked threatening moving up the left flank. The Spaniard tracked back well to keep out the likes of Defoe and King.

Shkrodan Mustafi - 7/10

The German had a good performance and eliminated the threats posed by Bournemouth's attacking force. He made key interceptions to ensure Defoe wasn't sent through on goal against Cech.

Laurent Koscielny - 7/10

The Frenchman was good defensively and showed good distribution and control. Took quite a hard knock from Josh King in the second half but recovered.

Hector Bellerin - 6/10

The Spaniard put on a trademark Bellerin performance: his runs caused worries for the Bournemouth fullbacks all game and his cross almost put it on a plate for Sanchez in the dying stages of the game.

Sead Kolasinac - 7/10

The wingback looked to get forward and deliver crosses all game and assisted Welbeck for the opening goal of the game. Strong, encouraging performance from the Bosnian.

Aaron Ramsey - 6/10

He dominated the midfield along with his teammates all game. He made several key passes but Bournemouth's centre-backs were able to keep the danger at bay. The Welshman was the orchestrator of the typical quick, accurate passing in small spaces Arsenal have shown over the years.

Granit Xhaka - 7/10

The Switzerland international had an eye for goal since kickoff and tested Begovic early on. He also made some excellent long passes to put his forwards through on goal.

Alexandre Lacazette - 7/10

The Frenchman scored his second of the season with a supreme finish half an hour into the game after capitalising on Aké's dreadful mistake. He could've had two in the second half after Begovic's error but was unable to find the net.

Mesut Ozil - 7/10

A much more promising performance from the German after the horror show against Liverpool. He set up Welbeck as well as Lacazette on numerous occasions.

Danny Welbeck - 8/10 (Man of the Match)

Welbeck opened the scoring just 5 minutes into the game and got behind the Bournemouth midfield looking to create space to receive Ozil and Ramsay's crosses. He got his second after another defensive error from Bournemouth and was brimming with confidence.

Substitutes

Francis Coquelin - 5/10

Allowed Arsenal to see out the game defensively and created more chances up front.

Olivier Giroud - 5/10

The Frenchman was unable to score his 100th goal in an Arsenal shirt despite having a couple chances to do so.

Alexis Sanchez - 6/10

The Chilean, despite being on for 15 minutes, looked threatening on the move and tested Begovic in extra time. Could've scored from Bellerin's cross but was intercepted.

Bournemouth

Asmir Begovic - 5/10

The Bosnian couldn't do much about any of the goals but made a calamitous error after nearly gifting Welbeck a goal in the first half. Did well to save it though.

Tyrone Mings - 4/10

The left-back was all over the place and struggled to cope with Arsenal and was substituted at half time. He tried finding Defoe but was unable to achieve anything meaningful.

Nathan Aké - 5/10

The former Chelsea defender's error saw Lacazette smashing home his second of the season. He looked shaky on the ball otherwise but made several interceptions from Arsenal's midfield.

Steve Cook - 5/10

The Englishman didn't look comfortable on the ball but made several tackles to stop the likes of Welbeck and Arsenal. Made a few sloppy passes.

Adam Smith - 5/10

He couldn't provide Defoe with any crosses in his forward runs and was outclassed from Arsenal's brilliant frontline who kept him preoccupied.

Charlie Daniels - 5/10

The Englishman, who scored a cracker against Manchester City, looked to run in behind Arsenal's defence but was unable to make an impact.

Ryan Fraser - 5/10

He had an average performance and was injured. He had to be replaced by Jordan Ibe 37 minutes into the game.

Harry Arter - 5/10

Just like the rest of his team, the Irishman had a disappointing game and was unable to gain control of the middle of the park.

Dan Gosling - 4/10

He was caught in the middle of the pitch which led to Welbeck slotting in the third of the game. The Englishman didn't look very convincing.

Jermain Defoe - 5/10

The striker was deprived of any chances throughout the game and wasn't even feeding on scraps. He hit the post with his first touch in the second half and was unlucky to not score, though.

Joshua King - 5/10

The forward made several good runs down the wing and won possession for his team but couldn't do much. Probably the most active Bournemouth player on the pitch.

Substitutes

Simon Francis - 5/10

The Englishman came on at half time to tighten up the defence and was solid for the majority of the game but conceded a third goal.

Jordan Ibe - 5/10

The former Liverpool star replaced Fraser in the 37th minute but looked dull in the middle of the park and was unable to pierce through Arsenal's backline.

Lys Mousset - N/A
