Liverpool v Burnley - Premier League
Nick Pope put in a man of the match performance

Nick Pope: 9/10

What a way to make your Premier League debut! The young goalkeeper showed fine reflexes, was quick off his line and deserved the man of the match award.

Matthew Lowton: 6/10

A typical Matt Lowton performance where the defender gave his all against marking Coutinho and covering Robertson's overlapping runs.

James Tarkowski: 8/10

The Michael Keane replacement is improving with each passing week and tonight gave away another rock-solid performance. His blocks were crucial in Burnley continuing their dream start to the season.

Ben Mee: 7/10

Mee was calm in defending and had two chances to score the winner from two corners in the second half. A leader in this Burnley setup, Mee had another commendable outing.

Stephen Ward: 6/10

Ward could not influence much going forward but was his usual energetic self.

Jack Cork: 6.5/10

The midfielder helped out his defenders well and played an anchor's role for his side. He was also tidy in possession.

Steven Defour: 6.5/10

Defour looked assured in possession but did not get many chances to have a go at the Liverpool defence.

Johann Gudmundsson: 5.5/10

The Icelander could not play his natural game as he was given the job of making up the numbers at the back. He did his job well and showed intent in his defensive duties.

Robbie Brady: 6.5/10

Brady hardly got any chances to make life difficult for the Reds except for his set piece deliveries. But it was his header in the buildup to the goal which proved to be his most valuable contribution.

Scott Arfield: 7.5/10

Replacing Sam Vokes in the starting lineup, Arfield played his heart out and received his rewards in the form of a well-taken goal. Burnley have now not lost a game on 10 occasions when Arfield has scored for them.

Chris Wood: 6/10

Though Wood did not receive much service, he showed tremendous work rate and troubled the Liverpool central defenders in aerial battles.

Substitutions

Ashley Barnes: 6.5/10

Barnes replaced Gudmundsson but could not replicate his defensive duties to perfection.

Sam Vokes: N/A

Vokes hardly had any time to do anything meaningful.

Ashley Westwood: 5/10

Westwood was on the field for just a few minutes but still made two crucial blocks.
