EPL player investigated after homophobic tweet

The young Spanish starlet Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáez de la Torre, known as Suso is set to be investigated by The Football Association after he tweeted a picture of his fellow Liverpool team-mate Jose Enrique with a controversial caption.

The complete tweet could by seen in this image. Suso posted an image of Enrique getting his teeth whitened with the message “what f*** is he doing? This guy is gay… he does everything except play football.“

Suso quickly removed the message and tweeted: “I didn’t mean it in that way about ‘gay’. Don’t want anyone to feel offended. Just joking. But anyway sorry.”

The tweet created a lot of controversy, and many Liverpool fans lambasted Suso to not use such language.

“Please don’t use the word gay as a put down,” the Sun quoted a fan, as replying to Suso.

Another fan Ed Whitfield added: “Being gay isn’t a mental illness.”
