In the first match of the 2013/14 Premier League season, hosts Liverpool take on a new-look Stoke City at Anfield.

Liverpool will be looking to start their season under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, with a sole aim of challenging for a Champions League place after enduring a disappointing campaign last season as they finished 7th.

On the other hand, Stoke City begin their life in Premier League without Tony Pulis for the first time, after he was replaced by Mark Hughes earlier in the summer.

Hughes will be looking to address Stoke’s poor goalscoring form as only the relegated QPR, with 30, scored less goals than the Potters, who had 34 goals last season.

Let’s look at what stats have to offer for Liverpool vs Stoke City:

- Liverpool are without a win in the last 4 games on the opening day of the season. They have drawn 2 home games while losing twice away.
