Tottenham Hotspur’s record signing Erik Lamela wants to quit the north London club. Lamela has joined Spurs in the summer from Roma in a club record deal worth £30million, but has failed miserably in the Premier League.
Lamela has only made 9 Premier League appearances for Spurs since his arrival, and despite the insistence of current manager Tim Sherwood, who denied that the 21-year old could leave this month, is desperate to leave the club according to his father Jose Lamela.
‘Erik is not happy and wants to go back to Italy,’ Jose told the Italian media.
‘He has been linked with Lazio, but I don’t know anything about this. Could he re-join Roma? I don’t know.
‘Tottenham does not want him to leave in January.’
Inter Milan are being linked with a potential move for the Argentine.
