France came out 5-2 winners against so-far inspirational Iceland in the last quarter-final of the UEFA Euro 2016. Les Blues have earned the chance to face Germany now in the semi-final of the tournament, who defeated Italy in a penalty shoot-out last night.

While Arsenal's Olivier Giroud scored two goals, Antoine Griezmann, Dimitri Payet and Paul Pogba scored one goal each to hand the hosts a convincing victory. Here we'll take a look at how all the players, along with the goalscorers, fared in the match.

France

Hugo Lloris – 6/10

The Tottenham shot-stopper made a couple of good saves but other than that didn't do much.

Bacary Sagna – 6.5/10

The right-back had a decent outing and did well going up the pitch.

Laurent Koscielny – 6.5/10

Koscielny marshalled his troops well and held on to deny Iceland an early chance.

Samuel Umtiti – 6.5/10

The youngster partnered up well with the Arsenal centre-back and had a satisfactory debut.

Patrice Evra – 6.5/10

The former Manchester United fullback did well going forward and was good in the air as well.

Moussa Sissoko – 6.5/10

The Newcastle player provided some much needed energy to the French midfield but missed a couple of chances.

Dimitri Payet – 7.5/10

The West Ham playmaker had a brilliant night, creating all kinds of problems for the Iceland defence. He scored as well in the first half to give France the much-needed breathing space in such a crunch match.

Blaise Matuidi – 7/10

Matuidi was his usual self in the midfield, making some crunching tackles and playing some delightful passes. His brilliant ball led to the opener for France which was scored by giroud.

Paul Pogba – 7.5/10

The Juventus midfielder's passing range was there for everyone to see and admire. He rose high to score the second goal for his team from a header and was defensively sound in the match.

Antoine Griezmann – 8/10

The forward was probably France's best player on the field. He has upped the ante in the knockouts and wreaked havoc in Iceland's final third. He score the fourth goal for France and provided a couple of assists as well.

Olivier Giroud – 8/10

The Arsenal forward had a good outing, scoring two goals. The first one was scored in the 12th minute of the match, while the second was scored in the 59th minute.

Mangala came on for Koscielny in the 72nd minute of the match and didn't have much to do.

Kingsley Coman – N/A

Coman came in the 80th minute for Payet.

Gignac came on for Giroud and saw a couple of shots being saved.

Hannes Thor Halldorsson – 4/10

The goalkeeper had a bad outing and was helpless to stop France from scoring five goals against him.

Birkir Saevarsson – 4/10

Saevarsson was troubled a lot on the right flank but tried to go forward whenever presented with a chance.

Ragnar Sigurdsson – 4.5/10

Sigurdsson, who was the hero for Iceland in the match against England had a not-so-good outing but was decent in the air.

Kari Arnason – 3.5/10

Arnason failed miserably to cause any sort of problems to the French forwards.

Ari Freyr Skulason – 5/10

Skulason was the best performer among the back four of the Nordic nation. He gave an assist for the second Iceland goal.

Birkir Bjarnason – 6.5/10

Bjarnason scored the second goal for Iceland and did well to hold on to the bal in 50-50 situations.

Aron Gunnarsson – 5.5/10

The skipper's primary weapon in the tournament have been the long throw-ins, however, he was not able to execute them properly as his side fell to a defining loss. However, he was full of energy and tried his best to help the team.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 6/10

Sigurdsson assisted for the first goal, which Sigthorsson scored of. He would have hoped for a better performance however.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson – 5/10

The winger was full of running and troubled the French defence on some occasions.

Kolbeinn Sigthorsson – 6.5/10

Sigthorsson scored the first goal for his team after France were already 4-0 up. He was later taken off for Gudjohnsen.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson – 4.5/10

Bodvarsson did not see much of the ball and was taken off at half-time. He skied a reatively wasy chance in the first half itself.

Sverrir Ingi Ingason – 6/10

Coming on at half-time, Ingason forced Lloris into a save but was unable to help his side go through.

The veteran came on for Sigthorsson in the 83rd minute.

Finnbogason came on at half-time but was ineffective.
