Cech showed once again why is he considered to be one of the best shot-stoppers in the business

Petr Cech – 7.5/10

It would have been 1-0 to Spain within the first 20 minutes if not for the Arsenal goalkeeper. Cech showed once again why is he considered to be one of the best shot-stoppers in the business as he thwarted a lot of Spanish shots. However, he was undone by a Pique header late into the game.

Pavel Kiaderabek – 5.5/10

Jordi Alba caused a lot of trouble to the right-back, however, he made a couple of decent forward runs in the second half.

Tomas Sivok – 6/10

Sivok was asked a lot of questions by Morata’s runs in the first half. He improved on his performance in the second half and restricted the Juventus striker.

Roman Hubnik – 6.5/10

Clearly better of the two centre-backs, Hubnik kept his cool in pressure situations while defending. He missed a gem of a chance from a set piece situation to put his team ahead in the latter stages of the game.

David Limbersky – 5/10

Limbersky was left frustrated by David Silva’s trickery, which led him to foul the Spaniard and getting his name into the referee’s book.

Vladimir Darida – 5.5/10

Darida was dominated by Iniesta in the midfield and did little going forward as well.

Jaroslav Plasil – 5.5/10

Like his fellow defensive mid, Plasil was made to sit back deep into his half and defend for most of the game. He literally had no answer to the midfield force of the Spanish team.

Theodor Gebre Selassie – 6/10

Sellasie did well on the defensive front and was never shy of tracking back. One can also say that he was forced to spend majority of his time defending due to waves after waves of Spanish attacks.

toms rosicky
Rosicky failed to make a mark on the match

Tomas Rosicky – 6/10

Rosicky failed to make a mark on the match as he would have liked to and was restricted to a couple of forward runs. He saw a bit more of the ball in the second half but was let down by his team in the end.

Ladislav Krejci – 6/10

Krejci troubled the Spanish ranks with his vicious crosses in the box, especially in the second half when the Czechs showed a bit of bravery to break forward and try score a goal.

Tomas Necid – 5/10

Necid was often left alone up front for majority of the time he was on the pitch and except firing a shot straight a De Gea, he didn’t do much. He was taken off for Lafata in the 75th minute.
