Staying with the Spain-Croatia eight-goal Euro 2020 thriller, Pedri putting one into his own net marked the ninth own goal of the tournament, which is as many as all the previous editions of the competition combined.

Earlier in the tournament, Merih Demiral, Mats Hummels, Ruben Dias, Raphael Guerreiro, Wojciech Szczęsny, Lukas Hradecky, Martin Dubravka and Juraj Kucka scored own goals.

We remain with the Spain-Croatia game yet again, as it was a record-breaking match on many counts.

Spain beat Croatia 5-3 after extra time to book their place in the semi-finals. That made La Furia Roja the first team in European Championship history to score five goals in successive games.

Earlier, in their last group-stage game against in Seville, Spain scored five unanswered goals against Slovakia. That marked the second game at Euro 2020 to produce multiple own goals, with the Portugal-Germany game being the first.

Interestingly, there were no such instances in the competition's history of more than one own goal scored in a European Championship game.

Finally, we move to a game that doesn't feature Spain and Croatia.

After failing to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Italy have been on a roll under Roberto Mancini. The Azzurri produced a perfect qualifying campaign to qualify for Euro 2020, where they won each of their three group games.

They beat Austria after extra time in the Round of 16 to extend their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 31 games.

That marks Italy's longest winning streak in all competitions in their history, beating their previous record of 30 which they recorded between 1935 and 1939.

The Azzurri will now take on Belgium in a blockbuster Euro 2020 quarter-final clash later this week.
