Manchester United Player Ratings

Edinson Cavani scored his first Manchester United goal
Edinson Cavani scored his first Manchester United goal

David De Gea - 6/10

De Gea wasn't really tested too much in the game, with Everton's only shot on target being their goal. The Spaniard was not at fault for Bernard's goal either.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 5/10

It was a difficult afternoon for Wan-Bissaka against the combination of Bernard and Digne. His defending for the goal was a little too casual though, when he should've gotten closer to the Brazilian to block the shot.

Victor Lindelof - 6/10

Lindelof was well-beaten in the air by Calvert-Lewin in the build-up to the Everton goal. After that, the Swede acquitted himself well in clearing crosses when he had to.

Harry Maguire - 8/10

This was a proper captain's performance from the much-maligned Maguire. He was strong in the air, and went into duels with conviction. He won the ball from Coleman to set Manchester United off on their way to score their third goal.

Luke Shaw - 7/10

Shaw got himself a second assist in consecutive games with another terrific cross for Fernandes. He defended well against James and Coleman, as well. His suspected hamstring injury was the only dampener to Manchester United's day.

Scott McTominay - 6/10

This was a typical McTominay performance in midfield. He was an excellent screen for the Manchester United defence, and excelled in the physical battle against Allan and Doucoure.

Fred - 7/10

After a couple of underwhelming displays recently, Fred was once again superb in midfield. His battling was needed to keep James quiet on the Everton right, and the Brazilian did his job well.

Juan Mata - 5/10

Mata had a rather quiet game for the most part. He didn't really have a significant influence on the match in an attacking sense.

Bruno Fernandes - 9/10

Fernandes was the match-winner. He scored two goals, one of which should really have been Rashford's, but at this point, Manchester United will take them however they come. Fernandes also was extremely intelligent in carrying the ball as long as he did before freeing Cavani on his left for the clinching goal.

Marcus Rashford - 6/10

His presence was enough for Jordan Pickford to be distracted and the ball to creep in at the far-post to give Manchester United the lead. He missed a sitter in the second half, with the goal at his mercy, as he shot straight at Pickford.

Anthony Martial - 4/10

Martial was poor, and his run of Premier League games without a shot on target continued. His overall play was underwhelming as well.

Substitutes

Axel Tuanzebe - 6/10

Tuanzebe replaced the injured Shaw at left-back and did what was asked of him to help Manchester United keep their lead.

Paul Pogba - 6/10

Pogba displayed far more confidence in possession than he has in recent games, and helped keep the ball in the Everton half late in the second half.

Edinson Cavani - 7/10

The Uruguayan scored his first Manchester United goal with a routine finish past Pickford.
