Gerard Deulofeu set for Barcelina move after completing Everton loan

Barcelona striker Gerard Deulofeu will return to Barcelona after a successful season-long loan at Everton last season. Roberto Martinez signed the youngster from the Nou Camp amidst interest from various other clubs last season and was hoping he would stay at Goodison Park for another year.

Deulofeu is a product of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and is set to return along with Rafinha, who spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo, Barcelona have announced.

The Spaniard announced his departure in an emotional and sincere open letter to the fans. he was heralded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from La Masia before joining Everton and lived up to his name last season. The 20-year-old made 25 Premier League appearances last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists.

Deulofeu will be hoping for a chance at first team football under new Barcelona’s new manager, Luis Enrique who recently signed a 2 year deal at the Camp Nou.
