#2 Arsenal concede TWO penalties

Nottingham Forest v Arsenal - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Arsenal were in the midst of another penalty controversy.

As Arsene Wenger sat in the stands in the first of his three-game touchline ban, John Moss proceeded to award 2 penalties against his Gunners side. The Frenchman made inflammatory comments about Mike Dean in relation to the wrongful penalty decisions he made against them at West Brom. The Gunners went on to concede another dodgy penalty in their next game against Chelsea, in which Eden Hazard was judged to have dived. Fast forward a few more days and Arsenal are in the midst of another penalty controversy.

In the 64th minute, Rob Holding rounded off a disaster class by inexplicably bringing down Matthew Cash. That’s not the penalty Arsenal fans will contest, it’s the second one that raised a few eyebrows. As Armand Traore charged forward after pouncing on a loose ball, he burst into the box and was tackled from behind by Mathieu Debuchy.

At first, it looked a clumsy challenge from the 32-year-old, but upon replay, it’s clear as day that the right-back got the ball first. Let's not even get started on the fact the penalty taker seemingly touched the ball twice in the process of scoring.

Regardless, the penalty decision should not mask a sub-par performance from the Gunners.
