Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas wants speculation over his tranfer to spanish giants Barcelona to end, at least until the end of the season.
The Fabregas to Barcelona story has been recycled month in and month out for the last two years. This time the reports came from Spain that claim the midfielder has agreed to join the Spanish champions at the end of the season, but both club and player have denied the allegations.
“They have denied it, I have denied it. I just want to focus on Arsenal,” Fabregas told Sky Sports.
“I think Arsenal Football Club is above everything, every single player in its history and their fans, and the club, and myself – I think we deserve a little bit more respect.”
With all of the media speculation going on in Spain over Arsenal’s tailsman Barcelona was prompted to put out a statement regarding the midfielder’s future stating, “Given the exceptional repercussions created by the stories that have appeared in different media with respect to an agreement with Cesc Fàbregas, Barca flatly deny there have been any negotiations or agreements with the player.”
However, Fabregas Senior has added fuel to the fire by saying if a deal was to be reached it would be at the end of the season during the summer tranfer window.
“If something has to happen – we will see at the end of the season. We would talk,” Fabregas Snr told Radio Kanal.
