Fans of Bundesliga club Schalke 04 finally had their way when the German club on Monday announced that it has terminated the unpopular contract with Viagogo.
The contract which was signed in December last year, made Viagogo, Schalke’s official ticketing partner.
The unhappy Schalke fans staged strong protests at Schalke’s annual general meeting held last month, demanding the contract be terminated.
Schalke officials justified the termination saying that the ticketing firm did not abide by the terms of the contract right from the beginning of the partnership.
The official press release from the club read: “Contract terminated immediately!”
The happy fans were quick to celebrate as they consider this as a triumph.
