English footballer Rio Ferdinand has said that he would like to play for Manchester United, for as long as his body will allow him to do so.

Ferdinand will be playing his testimonial against Sevilla on Friday, having been at Old Trafford for ten years now. He had joined Manchester in 2002, and said that he would want to be involved with the club that he has fallen in love with, for as long as he possibly can.

“For as long as my body allows me to, I’ll keep on playing,” said Ferdinand, as reported by Sky Sports. “And for as long as I can stay at Manchester United, I will stay there.

“When I look at pictures ahead of the testimonial, it evokes memories and it has relit the fires a little bit in terms of winning things.

“Whether I can do it, we’ll have to wait and see. But I’ve still got that burning passion to win things.

“I thought I’d be at United for a couple of years, maybe three or four, and then go abroad somewhere.

“But I just fell in love with United – the winning and the history of the club – and the pull has got stronger as the years have gone by.”

Being at the ripe age of 34, Ferdinand has indicated that he still has the fire to soilder on.
