Laurent Koscielny

It was the same old story for Arsenal last season who, after making a promising start to the season, faded away post-Christmas and handed Leicester City the trophy. However, they did manage to leapfrog their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur to second place in the League which can be counted as a high in Arsenal terms.

Several players from the Arsenal side had a good 2015-16 campaign. Petr Cech in particular who transferred to the Emirates from Chelsea last summer was outstanding between the sticks for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger bought the services of Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi this summer who are expected to shine for them in the league.

The FIFA 17 is just around the corner and EA Sports recently released the player ratings for the Arsenal players.

Here are the official ratings of the Arsenal squad:

Hector Bellerin: 79 Overall

Young Hector bellerin established himself last season as first choice right-back for Arsenal and put in some impressive performances for the North London otfit.Even though he drew criticism for his defending, he was often lethal in attack and put in 5 assists to his name. bellerin has immense potential to suceed in the top flight in Europe and is rewarded with a rating of 79, five points more than what he got in FIFA 16.

Laurent Koscielny: 85 Overall

The Frenchman is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League possessing good pace and strength. The Arsenal defence hasn’t been the best for quite some time now, but Koscielny always gives his all which enabled Arsenal to finish second last season.

An upgrade of two points to 85 (83 in FIFA 16) in FIFA 17 is well deserved by the French defender.

Santi Cazorla: 86 Overall

Santi Cazorla

The little Spaniard was outstanding in the first half of the season for Arsenal but was out for most parts of the second season due to injury. Arsenal naturally suffered a dip in form without the services of the midfielder who was instrumental for the Gunners till then.

Cazorla gets an upgrade of just one rating point to 86 in the latest FIFA 17 rankings. He should have deserved more, but because of his age which is over 30, we’re not complaining.

Alexis Sanchez: 87 Overall

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean has taken the Premier League by storm since joining the Gunners in the summer of 2014. Though he wasn’t at his best last season, Sanchez still managed to rack up 17 goals for the North London outfit. Added to that was his performance in Copa America where he led his team to a second successive Copa win.

Sanchez is upgraded by a point to 87 in FIFA 17 compared to 86 in FIFA 16 and deservedly so.

Petr Cech: 88 Overall

Petr Cech

The veteran goalkeeper has been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League for a decade now who joined Arsenal last season following a season with Chelsea on the substitutes bench. The Czech Republic keeper was everything Arsenal needed in a keeper, and Cech did not fail to live up to his reputation as a world-class goalkeeper who put in terrific saves week in and week out.

Petr Cech was rated 85 in FIFA 16 but got a huge upgrade to 88 in FIFA 17 owing to his impeccable performances in front of the goal for the Gunners.

Mesut Ozil: 89 Overall

Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil is undoubtedly one of the best attack-minded midfielders in the world at present. The German has put on impressive performances for Arsenal ever since joining them in 2013.

Ozil possesses impeccable skill and vision though his work rate and the pace is often put to question. Last season, Ozil was at his very best and provided 19 league assists along with 6 goals for the Gunners.

The German gets an upgrade of 2 rating points to 89 from his old 87 rating in FIFA 17.
