Russian gas company Gazprom has announced a new partnership with the world soccer’s governing FIFA. The deal which will run from 2015 to 2018 was signed at a ceremony attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The company will be able to advertise using FIFA and world cup logos along with being the exclusive sponsors of the body in oil, gas and fuel sectors. The financial aspects of the deal was not revealed but it is thought to be worth between US$24 million and US$44 million annually.
“Of course I am not only happy, it is also a great honor for me that you are with us today as we conclude a cooperation agreement with our new partner, Gazprom,” said Sepp Blatter addressing Putin.
The company is an active sponsor in the footballing world as they already have deals with Uefa Champions League and Russian champions Zenit St.Petersburg.
