FIFA appoints Icon for World Cup 2014 signage assignments

FIFA has partnered with Icon for signage assignments for the 2014 World Cup to be held in Brazil. Icon is a subsidiary of Chime Sports & Entertainment (CSM) and was involved in the signage programme for the 2012 London Olympics and the recently concluded Confederations Cup held in Brazil.

For the 2014 mega event, Icon will carry out a massive signage programme that will cover all the 12 stadiums, the International Broadcast Centre, airports, official hotels and the Football For Hope festival.

Talking about the partnership, John Francis, Managing Director of Icon told Sports Pro Media:

“One of the greatest legacy stories of such a momentous year for us is that the Olympics and Paralympics have given us a fantastic and probably unique platform to build our business around the world with new business such as FIFA contracts in Brazil.”

“There is a natural curiosity about who delivered the distinctive look and feel which was a central part of what made the Games so memorable.” he added.
