Ecuador midfielder Christian Noboa was forced to wear a hairnet after a head collision with France’s Blaise Matuidi in the final group game of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

The 29-year old was left with a bloodied head after the clash and was allowed to continue only after the physios made him wear a curious looking hairnet to keep the bandage in place. This incident attracted millions of reactions worldwide who tweeted about Noboa’s bizarre hairnet.

Noboa who plays for Dynamo Moscow was a subject of great curiosity, well his hairnet specifically. Twitter users had a field day yesterday and some of the reactions were very mindful of what they saw. After the Suarez and Matuidi incidents, the World Cup is just starting to hot up on the social networking site.
