FIFA World Cup 2014: Half-naked streaker invades pitch during Germany-Ghana match

Pitch invader with Ghana’s Sulley Muntari

The group G encounter between Germany and Ghana on Saturday was no less than a thriller. Ghana’s determination and Germany’s resilience in a 2-2 draw was a feast to the fans all over the world. But, there was something more than football happening in the stadium. A half-naked streaker was the centre of attraction as he broke through security and danced around the players on the field during the match.

In the 53rd minute, a half-naked man jumped from the crowd and made his way to the middle of the pitch without any resistance. The man had an email-id and a phone number inked on his bare body which indicated that he wanted to capture the attention of fans.

The security guards never seemed to take notice until the players themselves got involved. The referee immediately stopped the game as Ghana’s Sulley Muntari went up to the man and gave him a big hug, thereby coaxing him to leave he field. After the man was dispatched away with the help of guards, the game resumed.
