Russia hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup in 11 Cities across 12 Stadiums from 14 June to 15 July 2018. It was one of the most spectacular sports events of the year.

Russia issued a second set of stamps on 17 November 2015, featuring another four stadiums which hosted the matches. These stamps were issued in sheetlets of 8 stamps per sheetlet, and the stamps were priced at 21 roubles each.

The following are the stadiums that were chosen to feature on the first set of stamps on stadiums.


Fisht Stadium at Sochi - This stadium hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. It was thereafter renovated to host the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and The 2018 FIFA World Cup.

It hosted the group matches from 15 June to 26 June 2018, the round of 16 Match between Uruguay and Portugal in which Uruguay knocked out Portugal 2-1 on 30 June 2018. Sochi stadium was witness to the classic quarter-final on 07 July 2018 wherein Croatia, the Finalists, knocked out hosts Russia on penalties 4-3. This stadium has a built-in capacity to seat 45,000 spectators and the attendance recorded for Russia vs Croatia match was 44,287 spectators.

Luzhniki Stadium at Moscow - It is the national stadium of Russia located in Moscow. It hosted the spectacular Opening ceremony and the First Match between Russia and Saudi Arabia on 14 June 2014.

The stadium played host to group matches from 14 June to 26 June 2018, the round of 16 matches between Russia and Spain on 01 Jul 2018, the semi-finals on 11 July 2018 in which Croatia beat England and then the finals on 15 July 2018 where France beat Croatia to be crowned the World Champions. This stadium has a mandated capacity of 80,000 and the attendance recorded for final was 78,011.

Spartak Stadium at Moscow - It is located in Moscow and is also known as the Otkritie arena. It hosted the group matches from 16 June to 26 June 2018 and the round of 16 matches on 03 July 2018 between Colombia & England. This match recorded an attendance of 44,190.

Kazan Arena Kazan – It serves as a home arena to FC Rubin Kazan with a seating capacity of 45,000This stadium was host to 2013 Summer Universiade, 2015 World Aquatics Championships,2017 Confederations Cup before hosting the World Cup Matches. It hosted the group matches from 16 June to 27 June 2018 and the quarter-final between Belgium and Brazil on 06 July 2018. This match was host to 42,873 spectators.
