5 reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo should move back to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £80 million. Since then, he has won the Champions League once, La Liga once, the Copa del Rey twice and also the FIFA Ballon d’Or.But with reports of resentment and discontent after recent events at the club, here are five reasons why Ronaldo should move back to Manchester United.

#1 It\'s Manchester United

Whatever plaudits Ronaldo receives now, for the rest of his career and beyond, it is an undeniable fact that it was Manchester United that made him famous.

And it was Sir Alex Ferguson who had the biggest impact in making him the force that he is today.

If there is any club that would take him with open arms and shower him with unconditional love and appreciation, it is probably Manchester United.

And it’s not like they have a problem with spending money or offering huge salaries, what with the purchases of Angel Di Maria and the loan deal for Radamel Falcao. If Ronaldo wants to come, Manchester United would be more than glad to make it happen!

#2 The new \'Gaalacticos\' era

Manchester United seem to be going the path of Real Madrid’s Galacticos. They have certainly thrown away their much lauded academy player approach, and are buying superstars for every position in the team.

Of course, this is possibly due to the fact that the youngsters coming in from the academy are nowhere close to the Class of ‘92. And if anything, last season showed that United can no longer depend on their youngsters to come through.

Ronaldo could be a part of the new ‘Gaalacticos’ regime and would love to go back to playing with Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney and, if the move is made permanent, Radamel Falcao.

That is eye watering talent there, and Ronaldo would be part of the project to once again make Manchester United the dominant force in English football.

#3 Current Relations with Real Madrid

There is constant speculation that he is at odds with Florentino Perez and he was certainly not happy about the sale of Mesut Ozil last year and that of Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria this year.

He did come out and say that if he was in charge he would “do things differently”. But then, Perez is not one to really worry about what his players think, and if he feels the need to sell a player to get another galactico in, he will do it without any hesitation.

For a player as important as Ronaldo to not be happy with such a transfer policy does not bode well for their relations. At United, there is no doubt that the top brass would certainly treat him with more respect, especially if Wayne Rooney’s saga can be taken as a a blueprint!

#4 One Last Big Contract

For Cristiano Ronaldo, time is coming to an end. The first rays of his 30s have already begun to come up for him, and any move he makes now will be the last big contract of his career.

For a 29-year-old, it probably does not make much sense to go to a completely new league like the Bundesliga, where Bayern Munich would gladly take him, or even Serie A for that matter.

Instead, to keep his legacy intact, the best thing to do would be to come to a league that he has already mastered, and hence, Manchester United is the best place.

And it’s not like United would flinch at the cost it would take to bring him here, seeing as they are throwing money left, right and centre. Literally.

#5 Unfinished Business in the EPL

While Cristiano Ronaldo most certainly lit a lot of sparks during his time in the Premier League, most fans would agree that there was only perhaps one season in the English Premier league that could be compared to any of the seasons he has played in La Liga.

So, while his name in La Liga is going to stay for a long time alongside Lionel Messi, the same cannot be said of the EPL.

He needs to come back and show that he can do it on a cold, wet night in Stoke on a more regular basis to cement his legacy.
