Manchester United have registered a 6th defeat in the last eight matches in all competitions as they lost to Everton away from home. Manchester United was handed a horrific 4-0 defeat against the Toffees.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made some changes to the lineup, as Ashley Young was put on the bench. Diogo Dalot replaced him at right-back.Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, and Phil Jones all started with the hope of displaying something good at the back. Nemanja Matic returned to the starting line-up after recovering from an injury.Pogba and Fred paired up at the heart of the United midfield, while Rashford, Lukaku, and Anthony Martial started upfront.United felt the early pressure at the start, and Everton didn't take time to draw first blood. Lucas Digne provided a long throw to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who headed the ball towards Richarlison. The Brazilian striker made it 1-0 to the home side following a superb volley in the 13th minute of the match.Fifteen minutes later, Everton extended the lead. A right-footed shot by Gylfi Sigurdsson from outside the box made it 2-0. United was totally outclassed by Everton's offensive strength. The first half ended 2-0 to The Toffees.The second half started as the likes of Scott McTominay and Ashley Young were brought on. However, Lucas Digne registered the third goal for the men in blue. A left-footed shot from outside the box went past David De Gea.Theo Walcott's strike in the 64th minute of the match compounded United's misery as the scoreline got even more embarrassing at 4-0, following a supersonic counter-attack.Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it is United's heaviest defeat. Everton was best in all areas, while the United players allowed them to take shots from long range. The passing game of Everton was superb, whereas United's was awful, which was enough to turn the tide completely in favour of the home side.It's a grim road ahead for United, as their next matches will be against Manchester City and Chelsea.
