Transfer fee: £40.50 million (transfermrkt.co.uk)
From seemingly nowhere, the Anfield club sealed the expensive services of highly rated defensive midfielder Fabinho from AS Monaco for £40.50 million just after the nightmare of Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old was previously linked with move to both the Manchester clubs and his move to Anfield became proof of Liverpool's heavily growing influence in the transfer market. Fabinho enjoyed outstanding years with the French outfit and appeared on the scoresheet for 29 times in 225 appearances.
The Brazilian was expected to start for the Merseyside club on a regular note from the very start but it didn't happen like this way at all. The international Brazilian appeared on the bench for Reds in the opening fixture against West Ham but since then, he hasnt' made a place in the squad.
However, speaking to Globo Esporte, Fabinho insisted he has made a good start to life at Liverpool and admitted he it's time to make a competitive debut.
The month of September and start of October bring a series of tests for the Reds as they face Tottenham (Premier League), Paris Saint-Germain (Champions League), Southampton (Premier League), Chelsea (League Cup), Chelsea (Premier League), Napoli (Champions League), Manchester City (Premier League) in the span of 20 days and this sort of rush of fixtures could offer Fabinho his first competitive debut for Liverpool.
