Fulham vs Leicester City: Match preview, team news | Premier League 2018-19

New Fulham manager, Claudio Ranieri, will face his old club Leicester City where he won the Premier League in 2015-16. After winning the Premier League, he was sacked nine months later after poor performances.

However the Italian is now with Fulham who sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, but started his new chapter with a 3-2 win against Southampton, and his next match was against Chelsea which his side lost 2-0.

He is now focusing on the game against Leicester, looking for a desperate win that would push them out of the relegation zone.

As December is a busy month in the footballing world, Fulham will need to start picking up points if they want to remain in the Premier League. A win against Ranieri's former side will lift the team spirit just before Christmas.

Realistically Fulham should be doing much better if you look at the players they have brought in. The West London club have splashed the cash after being promoted from the Championship, and they bought experienced players such as Andre Schurrle, Aleksandar Mitrović, and Sergio Rico.

These players must start performing at their best if they want to stay in the Premier League, and that could happen with Claudio Ranieri's appointment.

It doesn't get easier for Fulham as they face Leicester City who have done well under Claude Puel.

Leicester have done well this season as they sit 9th, but a win against poorly performing Fulham will see them jump to 6th.

Team news

Leicester could be without main man, Jamie Vardy, who has picked up a groin injury which may need surgery that could keep him on the sidelines for a while.
