Game stopped in Kazakhstan as gale storm interrupts play

Have you ever heard of wind stopping play in football? It may not be a frequent occurrence, but Kazakhstan is finding the forces of nature more than a handful to deal with in their Premier League.

Generally, when a penalty is awarded, getting the ball past the goalkeeper is usually the major concern, not making sure the ball stays put on the spot.

In cricket, the bails can be blown off by the wind. In golf, the balls could start rolling around the greens. But most of the time, stands in a football stadium help guard the field from the wrath of Mother Nature’s vicious winds.

But, this Kazakhstan pitch is completely in the open, and the players can do nothing but watch on and chase after the ball when it rolls away from them time and again.

Here’s the video of players struggling to keep the ball on the penalty spot!
