Tim Weise, the former German Goalkeeper who was part of the 2010 world Cup tournament has turned into a bodybuilder as the pictures of the German has emerged showing an enormous transition of body.

Weise, 32, who still is officially registered for Hoffenheim had joined the German football club from Werder Bremen in 2012, but wasn’t the automatic choice during the 2012-2013 season.

In a turn of events, despite having a contract until 2016, he was released from Hoffenheim in January this year, claiming that Weise had turned into an Arnold Schwarzenegger –style ‘Mr Universe’ and was utterly unsuitable to play professional football .

The goalkeeper turns into muscle-man

The German goalkeeper appeared to be unperturbed by the mocking of fans for his bodybuilding stint and jokingly said that he would be so wide that the ball cannot go past him.

Later on after six weeks he had revealed that he tried to change his body in the beginning to cope with the pressure of abuse from supporters.

“I had to get all the Hoffenheim problems out of my head, and so I dealt with it this way, “he said.

Pressure Inhuman to handle

In a period of three years, Weise turned into a muscle man rather than the leading goalkeeper for Hoffenheim. He explained what lead to this turn around, and how he felt the blame was put on him and not on the team for losing.

“When I came to Hoffenheim, we thought we could challenge for European places. Then everything backfired. “And every time we lost, it seemed it was my fault; I was being analysed and criticised, not the team. It was all about me.

“Despite my experience and confidence, I had never faced this before. It culminated in a fan protest at the club’s office – a fan protest, just against me!

The former German Goalkeeper couldn’t take the scrutiny anymore by this time and was shattered by the pressure regarding it as inhuman.

“There were only a few of these fans, but this made me feel deeply unwanted, and I would never wish this on another player. “It was like being in a horror movie. The pressure was inhuman. I could not play freely.”

Easy Gateway for an International Place

In one of the worst decisions taken by Wiese, he declined an offer by Real Madrid to be number two to Iker Casillas, as he believed that playing for Hoffenheim could be the easier get through for an International place.

“Hindsight is easier than foresight,” he mused. “There was no way past Casillas at the time”. Though Casillas’ own form and confidence have been a worry while he ended up playing as the second fiddle for Real Madrid in the past two seasons.

Weise hasn’t played an international football match for the past one and half years.

Asked if he would return to the pitch, Weise admitted that he doesn’t know the answer and he would need to lose two stones in weight to retain his agility.
