#3. Germany need to work on their defense

Germany were pretty solid at the back for the majority of their Euro 2020 match against Hungary. But they lost control on a couple of occasions and were punished for the same. Low's men seem to lose their shape when opposition sides counter attack and that is one thing they need to work on as we enter the latter stages of Euro 2020.

Germany's indecisiveness at the back almost cost them a berth in the Round of 16. The way in which they conceded their second of the night was especially shambolic. Die Mannschaft will know they cannot afford to make such errors in the knockouts.

#4. Germany lacked the spark up-front

Germany were largely dull in front of goal. Low got it all wrong with his selection for the Euro 2020 clash against Hungary. The trio of Serge Gnabry, Kai Havertz and Leroy Sane just did not click and failed to produce anything substantial in the final third.

Thomas Muller's absence due to injury was also quite evidently felt. His experience, vision, game sense and leadership are some of the things Germany seemed to miss against Hungary. The team recovered their composure and looked more threatening following Muller's introduction.

#5. What an end to the Euro 2020 Group of Death

Group F at Euro 2020 was marked as the 'Group of Death' by many and it did not disappoint. Hungary's unexpected opener on Matchday 3 changed the dynamics completely. It saw Germany drop to fourth place.

Cristiano Ronaldo's spot-kick against France a while later put Portugal at the top of the table. But Karim Benzema equalized for France on the brink of half-time to help them reclaim first position.

The Real Madrid striker scored another early in the second half to momentarily push Portugal out of Euro 2020. But Ronaldo bailed his side out yet again with another goal.

Around the same time, Germany managed to pull one back through Havertz, but Hungary smashed another just seconds later to send everyone into a frenzy. In the end, it was Goretzka's goal that set the record straight as they booked their spot in the Euro 2020 Round of 16.
