Girona will be high on confidence after their impressive come-from-behind victory over Real Madrid last weekend. Prior to the Real Madrid match, Girona had been in a real slump with no wins in 13 matches in all competitions. A win today, however, could see Eusebio Sacristán's side move 7 points clear of the drop zone and rise as high as 12th in the table.
Real Sociedad, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last 9 matches in all competitions with their last defeat coming way back in December against Alaves. A win today would ensure they are firmly back in contention for a spot in Europe, tied with Sevilla and Alaves on 37 points.
The last encounter between the two sides ended in a boring goalless draw in October last year.
Eusebio Sacristán will be without the services of Johan Mojica and Aday Benitez, with the duo set to miss out due to injuries.
Pere Pons and Carles Planas are doubtful for the fixture as well.
Imanol Alguacil will be without Andoni Gorosabel, Asier Illarramendi and Martin Merquelanz who are out injured, while Theo Hernandez and Willian Jose will miss out due to suspension.
