Goalkeeper dies after being kicked in the head

Goalkeeper Slyvain Azougoui died after suffering a head injury

A tragic incident occurred in a football match in Gabon, West Africa, where a goalkeeper died after being kicked in the head as reported by a team official.

The match was played between Centre Mberi Sportif and AC Bongoville club, in Bongoville, which is 700 km south of Gabon’s capitol Libreville.

Slyvain Azougoui, who was the shot stopper for the AC Bongoville club, made a save but his head was stomped by the opposition’s striker who lost his balance due to the wet and slippery conditions of the pitch.

The 30-year-old was being taken to the hospital but he died on the way.
