The legendary Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, from São Paulo FC, is still breaking barriers and approaching 100 goals in his career. Yesterday in the defeat of his team to the Grêmio by 4-2 for the Brazil National Championship 2010 he scored a penalty kick goal and reached the mark of 91 goals as professional. An amazing mark for goalkeeper.
Despite his team haveing a hard time in the league, Rogerio has every reason to be motivated to continue until the end of the competition in December.
At 37 years old, Rogerio has made a stunning 931 appearances in his career spanning over 20 years making him the player with the third most number of appearances for a club all over the world. In front of him only Roberto Dynamite, who played 1,065 games for Vasco da Gama, and the mythical Pele, who played 1,114 games for Santos FC.
Playing since 1990 for São Paulo FC, Rogério Ceni needs to score 9 more goals to reach the mark of 100 goals in his career. Something unimaginable for a goalkeeper. It’s amazing!
