Rio de Janeiro, Jan 7 (IANS) Brazilian club Gremio are close to announcing a loan deal for Ecuador international defender Frickson Erazo, a media report said. The 26-year-old Barcelona de Guayaquil centre-back is expected to sign with the Porto Alegre club until December, Xinhua quoted the Terra news portal as saying Tuesday.
"We are waiting for some documents to make this announcement official," Gremio's football manager Rui Costa said. "I think that by Friday it should be confirmed."
Erazo, who has been capped 40 times for Ecuador, spent the 2014 season on loan at Gremio's Brazilian rivals Flamengo. Gremio will resume pre-season training on Thursday, ahead of the Rio Grande do Sul state championship starting later this month.
