Grenier hints Gunners move, Villa given permission for Premier League transfer

Olympique Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has been heavily linked with the Gunners recently. Arsène Wenger has showed interest in signing him and has drawn comparisons with former Gunner Samir Nasri. Grenier dropped a hint on where he could possibly play next summer. He has said that Arsenal are a possible destination and he would be ready to fight for his place in Gunners’ red and white.

“I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join,” said Grenier. “I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them.

“There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision. I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them.”

David Villa, whom Arsenal were also keen on during the January transfer window, has been given permission by FC Barcelona to leave this summer. The Spanish international would be a good addition for Arsenal, adding to the firepower. The 31 year old wants to leave the Catalans to improve his chances to feature in the World Cup next summer. He is also wanted by rivals Spurs where manager Andres Villas Boas is said to be very interested in the Spaniard.

Both signings would increase depth in the squad, I say go for both as Arsenal have money to spend and both are quality players.
