Gundogan out for major part of the season

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been suffering a persistent back injury which has kept him away from the action for quite some time and if Michael Zorc is to be believed, the 22 year old talent is not even to close to recovering.

Gundogan suffered a major back injury in Germany’s friendly match against Paraguay in August which has forced him out of the playing field for quite some time now. The player was supposed to make his return early last month, but the Dortmund medical team has confirmed that the youngster is still unavailable due to an inflamed nerve problem.

Borussia Dortmund‘s sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed that the club has no idea when the player will be available for selection. The Dortmund legend was quoted as saying to Zeitung “He is not making any progress at the moment; we do not know when he will be able to play again.”

Gundogan has made only one appearance for Dortmund in this season and is all set to miss a large part of the ongoing season.
