Apart from producing some of the world’s best quality lager and being UEFA’s top sponsor, Heineken are also known for their creative media campaigns. The Dutch company was at it again with the release of a new video clip as the concluding part of the ‘Road to the Final’ campaign.

Heineken had previously produced ‘The Seat’ and another video titled ‘Road to Final’ for the campaign, which were instant hits as they went viral over the internet. All the videos have one thing in common – the UEFA Champions League final. The clips try to demonstrate the passion for football among fans, and the things that these fans would do to be a part of the biggest night in football.

The latest video is centred on a competition to win a free ticket to the Champions League final, with a few chosen fans having one hour to claim it. But the contest comes with a twist. The first fan to reach the airport within the required time, without revealing his purpose of travel, is to be declared the winner.

The video follows three fans from Athens who are caught off guard and presented with the offer. The three promptly make clever excuses to leave their friends and family behind, and one of them even breaks up with his girlfriend!

As they head towards the airport, they face several obstacles in their path. The three men face difficulties such as delayed bus service, traffic, blocked roads and even a car break-down, but none of that fazes them. They continue soldiering on, and at the end of their tumultuous journey there is another twist awaiting them. Check out the video below to see what the lucky winner is made to do to get the coveted prize.

Heineken seems to understand the pulse of the football fanatic, and through this campaign has perfectly captured the passion that a football follower has towards the game.
