Kalvin Phillips was England's best player on the pitch in their Euro 2020 opener against Croatia. There's been a sense of adventure about Phillips and he has been making a lot of forward runs. He couldn't really assert himself in the game against Scotland but is likely to keep his place. Jordan Henderson could be used as a substitute.

Declan Rice turned in a rather underwhelming performance against Scotland but he is expected to start. He will have a lot of sweeping to do against Czech Republic and Southgate will hope that the youngster can deliver.

Mason Mount, who started the first two games, is in isolation as he also came into contact with Scotland's Billy Gilmour. As a result, Jack Grealish could finally get the start he deserves. The Aston Villa man couldn't conjure up anything of note after coming on against Scotland but it wasn't for a lack of trying.

Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Harry Kane will start against Czech Republic. The Tottenham Hotspur striker failed to register a single shot on target in England's first two matches at Euro 2020. Southgate said:

“He’s our most important player, there’s no doubt about that. You’ve only got to look at his goalscoring record with us to see his importance to the team. He is fundamental, not only with the goals he scores but the buildup play and everything else he brings.
"I know there will be a lot of questions being asked about him at the moment but he’s been through that a hundred times before. I’ve been in this role and answered these questions before and he’s come up with the goals, and I expect that to be the same moving forward.”

Kane has suffered due to a lack of quality service so far and it'll be interesting to see if Southgate shakes up his frontline. Given how England have already qualified for the knockout stages, he might be willing to experiment.

Marcus Rashford could start down the left wing. His partnership with Luke Shaw down the flanks has been crucial for Manchester United in the 2020-21 season. England could benefit from the same.

Jadon Sancho could be given a start as well as Phil Foden has struggled in both games. The Borussia Dortmund winger could add much-needed creativity to England's frontline.
