Liverpool got back to winning ways against Huddersfield Town

#3 A change in tactics does not work for Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town v Liverpool - Premier League
The Terries opted for two strikers upfront

The Terriers have had a terrible January. David Wagner's men have failed to win a single point in the new year which has seen them sitting in 14th spot, just one point safe from the relegation zone. To stop the rut that has been going on for the last few weeks, Wagner started against Liverpool with two strikers upfront - Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounie.

This was a ploy used by Huddersfield for the first time this season and must have also been taken because of the defensive frailties showed by their opposition in recent times. But the duo failed to make the most of this opportunity and failed miserably.

Depoitre, otherwise strong in aerial duels, lost seven against Dejan Lovren. He also had a golden opportunity in the first half from inside the box but the striker fluffed his shot which became an easy save for Loris Karius. Meanwhile, Mounie was anonymous for almost the entire game and could not trouble the Liverpool backline in any possible way.

Huddersfield Town needs these two strikers to get on the act and start scoring regularly if they are to avoid the drop in their first season in the top division.
