In part two of this special series, you will find out who are the comeback kings of the I-League.

Note: Statistics doesn’t include Mohun Bagan’s first ten games and today’s Pune FC vs East Bengal clash.

The Maharashtra duo of Pune FC and Mumbai FC top this list with seven points each and it has been highly beneficial for both sides. While it has helped Pune mount a serious title challenge, the ability to fight back has allowed Mumbai FC to sit comfortably in the top half and made up for the eight dropped points from winning positions.

Title contenders Dempo, East Bengal and Churchill Brothers don’t occupy a high position because very rarely have they gone behind, with Dempo and Churchill having never dropped points when they have taken the lead.

The bottom three places are occupied by relegation candidates ONGC, Air India and Salgaocar. To their credit, ONGC are currently in the top half, thanks to their recent revival but Air India and Salgaocar have not been able to show much resilience and have dropped maximum points from winning situations.

What about Mohun Bagan?

We left out Mohun Bagan from the analysis as they basically had to restart their campaign from game 11. But just for the record, the green-and-maroon brigade recovered just one point from losing positions in their first ten games.

Check out part 1 of the series where we see which team has lost most points from a winning position.
