If you have been following the news, you would be aware of Real Madrid’s astonishing £85 million bid for Tottenham Hotspur ace Gareth Bale. If it goes through, Gareth Bale would become the most expensive signing in the history of football.

Needless to say, there are people who believe that the transfer window has gone mad, and that no player perhaps is worth that kind of money.
