Berlin, Nov 7 (IANS) Struggling Ingolstadt football club and head coach Markus Kauczinski have agreed to part ways with immediate effect.

One day after the 0-2 loss to Augsburg, Ingolstadt reacted to the poor run and on Sunday sacked coach Kauczinski, who took the helm in summer, reports Xinhua.

"Together with Markus we have analysed the work of the past four months," Ingolstadt's CEO Harald Gaertner said. "Today we came to the conclusion that it is the best for Ingolstadt to make a fresh start."

Ingolstadt wait for their first win of the season after 10 games, as they reaped two draws and eight defeats. As a result, the "Schanzer" currently sit in the 17th place, which is a direct relegation spot.

"I would like to thank the managers, the team, the staff and the fans for the support in the last months," Kauczinski said.

"Unfortunately we did not earn the desired results on the pitch. I wish the club that they return to winning ways to maintain the top-flight status."

The club will now look for a new coach. If they can't find a new coach until Tuesday, they will fall back on an interim solution before Ingolstadt face Darmstadt in the 11th round of Bundesliga on November 11.
