Arsenal’s new recruit suffered an injury on international duty while preparing for France’s quarter-final clash with Uzbekistan at the Under-20 World Cup.

In the tournament, which was held in Turkey, Sanogo has scored three goals and provided one assist in four games so far, but has now suffered an injury.

According to reports in L’Equipe, the 20-year-old was injured during Friday morning’s training session. He had a collision with teammate Mouhamadou Naby Sarr. The French medical staff, fearing the worst, rushed him to a Turkish hospital for check-ups as they suspected a broken rib.

But good news for Arsenal fans is that L’Equipe confirmed that it was just an impact injury which will not keep him out of action for long.

The striker is currently doubtful to play for his country against Uzbekistan on Saturday.
