Ipswich Town’s Tyrone Mings donates tickets to fan after Twitter request

General Views of UK Football Stadiums

These days, it is fair to say that footballers get a lot of stick, but Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings showed that there are still plenty of good players left in the game, highlighted by his generous offer on Twitter to a Tractor Boys’ fan.

An Ipswich Town supporter, Tris Monk, took to Twitter on Saturday to wish Mings luck for the game, and tweet his frustration at not being able to afford to go and support his beloved team for their Championship match against Bolton.

However, on seeing his message on the social networking site, Mings came to the rescue of the fan and kindly donated two tickets for the game to the ‘skint’ fan – telling him to get down to the stadium and pick up the tickets that he had left at the gate under Monk’s name.

As it turned out, Tyrone’s good deed got repaid with three crucial points, as Ipswich defeated Bolton 1-0, which helped them move away from the relegation zone.
