The 35-year-old midfielder tested positive for dexamethasone, a steroid hormone, after Jamaica’s 0-2 away defeat to Honduras in a World Cup qualifier in June. Jamaica’s team doctor Carlton Fraser has been handed a four-year ban.

Both Fraser and Hue have been suspended provisionally since August and their ban will be backdated, FIFA announced Thursday, reports Xinhua.

Hue will not be able to play in any friendly or official matches, national and international level alike, until May 6, 2014, while Fraser is banned from working in football until Aug 6, 2017.

Hue made his debut for Jamaica in 1999 and has scored 12 goals in 42 international appearances.

In March, FIFA also banned Peruvian international Joel Sanchez for two years for testing positive for the same substance.
