Tottenham Hotspur have gone from a top 6 team to title contenders this season. The Lilywhites have been phenomenal this season and are 5 points behind Leicester City in the race for the Premier League.

A lot of the good that has happened has been credited to Mauricio Pochettino and his transformation of the squad. Big teams around Europe are now looking to hire the manager after seeing his results.

Real Madrid are one of those big names who have been linked with the manager but Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher doesn’t think he should choose Real Madrid over Tottenham.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said, “Why would Pochettino want to go? Where would he go? Real Madrid, for both players and managers, is a dream but it's a mad house, managers are there for a year and if they're there for two they've won the lottery”

“What Pochettino has created at Spurs; the players he has got and the age of those players, one of the best training grounds, a new stadium being built to rival Arsenal and Manchester United - everything is there at Tottenham for a manager.”

“If he wanted to go to Real Madrid in the future of course he could do that, but for him now he has got to win a lot of trophies with this team because they are very capable of doing it.”

Spurs will challenge for the title again: Carragher

Carragher believes that Tottenham’s title challenge is not a one-time thing and they will become a force to be reckoned with in seasons to come. “I have said many times that this is an unbelievable chance for Spurs to win the league this season, a chance that may not come again. But the more I watch them the more I think this chance might come again.”

“I was probably expecting Spurs to go back to challenging for the top four like they used to do. But the more I watch them, I think this could be a team that challenges for the title for years to come.”

Spurs play after Leicester do in each of the last four games and they also have an easier run of fixtures. Leicester City have to play against Everton Manchester United and Chelsea before the end of the season while Tottenham's only tough test is Chelsea.
