Joel Campbell: On his way back to The Emirates?

Arsenal attacker Joel Campbell’s agent has refused to rule out the possibility that his client could join an Italian side in the future, while his agent also confirmed the player will be returning to North London after the World Cup.

The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects at the World Cup this summer after an eye catching display during Costa Rica’s 3-1 victory over Uruguay in Group D.

The Costa Ricans have proven to be a surprise package at the tournament, thriving on their tag as unfancied underdogs to qualify for the knock out stages.

Meanwhile, Campbell’s displays have prompted Gunners chief Arsene Wenger to declare that he will welcome the forward into his squad last year after a number of spells on loan away from his parent club due to work permit issues.

However, although Campbell looks set to finally be given his chance in England’s top tier, the youngster’s agent, Joaquim Batica, has suggested Campbell could be set for a move away from north London in the future.

“It is so. But the reality is that the player has a two-year contract with Arsenal; the directive we have from London right now is that after the World Cup he will return to England.

“Italy is a major championship. In the future, Joel wants to achieve important goals, then never say never,” he told reporters.
