Joel Campbell will discuss his club future with Arsenal after the World Cup, reports the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old has been one of the stars of Costa Rica’s incredible World Cup campaign so far, as they have progressed to the quarter-finals despite being in a group with England, Italy, and Uruguay.

Campbell scored one goal and set up another in the win against Italy, and he scored a penalty in the shoot-out against Greece in the last 16. His pace, skill, and direct style have been a key feature of Costa Rica’s attacking play, and his impressive displays have led to question marks about his future.

Arsenal signed Campbell in 2011, but he has yet to play for the club. The forward has spent the last three years on loan at Lorient, Real Betis, and Olympiakos, and his agent has revealed clubs in Italy are interested in signing him

Roger Lacey said: ”Are Italian teams interested? Yes.

“There are several clubs who are in the top band that have made enquiries about the boy.

“We are talking about a great player here, who has captured everyone’s attention.

“His future at Arsenal is to be assessed after the World Cup.

Arsenal are looking for attacking options to supplement Olivier Giroud, and have been linked with a number of strikers across Europe. Campbell has already said he expects to be at Arsenal next season, and he will hope his displays in Brazil have convinced Arsene Wenger that he can play an important role at the Emirates.
