Jose Mourinho takes potshots at Jurgen Klopp and Tottenham fans

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League
Jose's in the mood again

Jose Mourinho's press conferences will never stop being interesting. The Special One does not mind starting beef with any of his rivals and has built quite the rep over his years in top flight management.

But things aren't working out well for Manchester United in the results section and it is starting to worry everyone involved with the club. However, the Portuguese tactician remains confident in his ability to turn things around and has gone one step further to rile up Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking ahead of the Red Devils' Sunday game against Burnley, Jose Mourinho held nothing back.

Mourinho was asked about the "Sacked in the morning' and 'You're not special anymore' chants that the Spurs fans sang during United's defeat at home and Mourinho said,

"Yeah but they didn't have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago."
"A cup final they had a big dream to go to, a title they had a big dream to win, because they don’t win many and of course they were not singing that."

He was subsequently asked if he would still think he's a great manager if he can't win the Premier League with Manchester United and Mourinho went all out, dragging Klopp and Pochettino to the scene.

"Do you ask that question to the manager that finished third in the Premier League or fourth?"

On being told that Jurgen Klopp doesn't regard himself as one of the greats, Mourinho said,

"Because he never wins anything in international for example. That’s his problem, I tell you what I think, how he feels. And I answer you the question."

He also seemed pretty unimpressed by Klopp's touchline antics as he said,

“I know the majority of the stadiums are used to the winning manager to jump around and to go to the crowd and put his face in front of the camera. With me that is not happening.”
“When I win I am the first one to leave."

Mourinho also took a moment to praise the fans that stayed in the stadium till the match was over and applauded the manager, perceptibly, for playing a more attacking brand of football.

“But an important defeat at home that’s the way I am. I had to go to the pitch and see the reaction — and it went a way that I felt really humbled.”

He went on to suggest that the media needs to pressure Klopp as much as they pressure Mourinho now that they're one of the frontrunners for the Premier League crown.

“Maybe this season, finally you demand that they win.”
