The fans of Borussia Dortmund showed their appreciation for the outgoing Juergen Klopp by unveiling a huge banner that thanked him for his achievements. Klopp’s final game in charge of Dortmund was not going to be a low-profile affair and the fans made sure that they give their beloved coach a deserving farewell.

It was the 47-year-old coach who steered the club to two successive Bundesliga titles, one German Cup and also took them to the Champions League final in 2013 where they lost to Bayern Munich. This season though has been a tough one for the German side as they flirted with relegation before finally finding some form to finish the season strong.

Dortmund’s final game was an emotional one for the fans as they will be bidding goodbye to the man who brought them a lot of successes. The banner which was unfolded by the fans read ‘Danke Jurgen’ (Thank you Juergen). The coach bowed when the fans unfurled the banner and was feeling emotional.

Klopp who joined the club in 2008 from FSV Mainz 05 will be leaving in June. There was good news for Klopp as his team defeated Werder Bremen 3-1 in the final Bundesliga game.

The manager will have the opportunity to win one last piece of silverware before departing as Dortmund play Wolfsburg in the German Cup. The manager will not be short of suitors with many clubs including Real Madrid, Fenerbahce and Liverpool have all been linked with the manager.
